Smart Monkeys Leverages ISAAC with Control Concepts’ Module Development for Gathering Intel

Smart Monkeys, a forward-thinking technology firm specializing in providing advice, project management, and programming for Show Control, has partnered with Control Concepts to develop Crestron control modules for its ISAAC 2.0 monitoring platform.

ISAAC is a multifaceted platform that aims to redefine the ways that AV systems are deployed, monitored, and managed. ISAAC serves a variety of markets including the entertainment industry, museums, digital signage, as well as commercial meeting spaces locally controlled by Crestron control systems.

Since most AV solutions have control sub-systems capable of interfacing with the ISAAC API to monitor devices through modules, drivers, or plugins, Smart Monkeys made a commitment to provide their clients with ease of implementation when integrating ISAAC with a Crestron controller.

Instead of adding more demand to the workload of a programmer, who is already tasked with making a system work to the client’s specifications and user’s requirements, the availability of Crestron control modules offered by Smart Monkeys provides a pre-developed, proven solution to leverage ISAAC tools in any Crestron installation without additional effort.

“Since we set out to make ISAAC capable of monitoring and managing the most commonly used products, it made perfect sense to have integration with Crestron and invest in control modules,” explained Stephan Villet, Managing Partner at Smart Monkeys, “Control Concepts professionalism and expertise not only helped to satisfy this need, they also helped us get to where we wanted to go by understanding the perspective and workflow of a Crestron programmer.”

“Smart Monkeys made the effort of integrating with the ISAAC API and the requirements of the Crestron modules easy,” remarked Steve Greenblatt, Control Concepts’ President, and Founder.  “We both speak the same language, are familiar with each other’s specialization, and have mutual respect for our complementary skill sets. Working together to develop modules that address a true need and provide great value to users of ISAAC and Crestron has been a rewarding experience.”

A unique aspect of ISAAC is that it is a hosting platform for virtual machines offering the ability to provide a small data center for technology. With the ability to implement Crestron’s Virtual Control (VC-4) server-based control platform within ISAAC, clients can have a complete control, monitoring, and management platform within one appliance. The Crestron modules developed for ISAAC support Crestron 3 Series and 4 Series controllers including VC-4.

Developing the Crestron Module for ISAAC showcases Smart Monkey’s investment in the AV industry, its dedication to offering easy to implement solutions, and its commitment to the needs of clients, end-users, and programmers alike. In addition, through the comprehensive support agreement offered by Control Concepts, those using the Crestron module on ISAAC will have a place to turn for extended support.
